>> THE LANGUAGE SCHOOL

Our language school is centrally located at the border of the historical old town of Freiburg, one of the most popular cities in Germany.

We have 8 bright and attractive classrooms where our intensive courses, standard courses, private lessons and classes for small groups take place. For avid readers we are proud to offer a library with literature in German and foreign languages. Moreover, our students can get to know each other in our cosy but spacious cafeteria, sun themselves on the big terrace, or study and surf in the internet in the computer room.

>> TEACHERS

Our teaching staff are native speakers with academic qualifications, training as teachers of German as a foreign language and long practical experience. They bring their fundamental understanding of the land and its culture to the lessons. Their great enthusiasm and teaching
skills ensure that the students see quick and lasting improvement in their language ability.

Our assistants set aside an hour a day for counselling should it be required by your child when away from home (perhaps for the first time?). Homesickness is simply more bearable when you can confide it.

>> SUMMER COURSES

Our summer language courses are designed for children and youths from 10 – 17 years old, comprising language instruction, accommodation with full board, a leisure activity programme and personal care and attention.

Duration & age groups
We offer courses of 2, 3 and 4 weeks' duration for 2 different age groups:
10 – 13 years old
14 – 17 years old

3 course levels:
- Beginners with prior knowledge
(1- 2 Years at school)
- Intermediate with prior knowledge
( 3- 5 years at school)
- Advanced (6- 8 years at school)

German courses:
- 20 teaching units at 45 minutes / week
- lessons from Monday to Friday
- Placement test
- maximum 12 pupils in a group

>> METHOD

Instruction procee ds according to the "communicative method".

Teaching is entirely in German. The goal is to become capable of oral and written expression and understanding of German.

The course contents include expansion of vocabulary, pronunciation practice, use of idiomatic expressions, grammar and more. Lessons are kept lively and varied through the use of many practical exercises, projects, role-plays and excursions.

Furthermore, we provide our students with student passes (enabling them to gain cheaper access to numerous institutions), free entry vouchers, a monthly local transport pass and a leisure activity brochure – all free!

>> ACCOMMODATION & ARRIVAL

Arrival: Sunday
Departure: Saturday

Residence
If you are a minor and wish to share accomodation with others of your age then we offer cozy and safe accomodation in the city centre in a hostel with two and three beds per room just 5 minutes walk from the school. There you can play table tennis and kicker or use the other sport facilities. For our youngest students we offer 24 hour support. All the rooms are friendly, bright and modern. You may also use the sports ground opposite the hostel. You are shure to have enough exercise!

Homestay
Accommodation in a friendly German family household with full board and lodging as well as good local transport connections. By the way, the guest families also go on trips, etc. with your child.

Pick-up from the station: included
Also upon request, there’s the possibility to book a pick-up service from the airport to Freiburg.
